Lake District Biogas passes the 20 Gigawatt hour mark

Lake District Biogas has now injected more than 20 million kilowatt hours (20 Gigawatt) of clean green biomethane into the gas network at Aspatria. The clean green gas is being consumed by the creamery and the local town at a rate of 100,000 kilowatt hours a day and the directors of the plant are confident they will reach their 40 million Kilowatt hour target by December. Commenting on the landmark Lake District Biogas director Mark O’Dowd said:

‘it’s a great achievement to pass 20 million kilowatt hours of biomethane and we are extremely proud of the efforts our staff and contractors have put into get there. There is still a way to go, but we are confident that can make our 40 million kilowatt hour target by the end of the year.’
